ご挨拶

JIM-NETハウスのオープニングセレモニーで、鎌田は次のように挨拶しました。

本日は、イラク政府高官、県知事、日本政府関係者、アルビル保健局、医療関係者、ポランティアの皆様他、たくさんの方々にご列席頂き、心から感謝いたします。
　JIM-NETは、イラクの病気の子ども達や、戦争に傷ついた子ども達を助けたいと思い、15年間、日本で募金活動をしながら、アルビル、バグダッド、モスル、バスラの小児病院へ、抗がん剤や診断機器などを支援してきました。
その中で、病気を抱えた子ども達とその家族の大変さを目の当たりにしてきました。
遠隔地からこのナナカリ病院へ通う子どもと家族の「家」があったらいいと考え、まずはモーテルを2部屋借り、白血病や小児がんの子どもとその家族が無償で使えるようにしました。
イラクではまだまだ数少ないケースワーカーの研修ができるフィールドがあったらいいと考え、治療や生活の相談ができる事務所を作りました。小さいながらプレイルームも備え、宿泊施設と、遊びや勉強の場を提供することで、がんサバイバーの子ども達やその家族を、精神的にも支えてあげたいと考えてきました。
このたび日本政府から多大な理解と協力を得て、総事業費約5,700万円の後押しをして頂き、「JIM-NETハウス」が完成しました。
より多くの子ども達が、家族とともに過ごしながら、治療し、学び、遊び、相談を受けることができるようになりました。
JIM-NETのスタッフはチョコ募金を通して、イラクの白血病の子どもたちの抗がん剤が買えるよう努力してきました。
毎年15万個程のチョコを売り、毎年数千万円の薬を支援してきました。
ざっと15万人の日本人が毎年賛同してくれていることになります。
たくさんの日本の仲間が、イラクの子どもを支えているのです。
今回このJIM-NETハウスが、イラクと日本、アルビルとJIM-NETの、「信頼」と「友情」の大きな懸け橋となり、さらに絆を深めていくことと信じています。

JIM-NET has been fundraising in Japan for 15 years to support children suffering from Childhood cancer and war and donated anticancer drug and diagnostic equipment. Through our activity, we have witnessed the difficulties of sick children and their families.
　We thought accommodation facility for cancer children and family could be a great help for families coming from distant place to Nanakaly Hospital to get treatment, so we rented two motel rooms and offered families having children with childhood cancer for free. We also built facility called JIM-NET house where these family could talk and consult about treatment for their children or their life. This facility has small playroom where kids can play and study, and it mentally help childhood cancer survivors and their families.
We received great understanding and support from Japanese government and also project cost of approximately about 34000USD, and the "JIM-NET House" was completed. From now on, more children can get not only treatment with their family but also learn, play and get consultation.
JIM-NET has been making effort to buy anticancer drug for children suffering from leukemia through chocolate found. We sell about 150,000 chocolates and donate medicine every year. It means about 150,000 Japanese support this project and children in Iraq.
We strongly believe that this JIM-NET house become the big bridge of trust and friendship between Iraq and Japan, Iraq and JIM-NET and make our relationship much stronger. We deeply appreciate your continual support and cooperation. Thank you very much.
